ABSTRACT
The article reports on the deployment of a city-wide wireless access network by Meraki Networks in San Francisco, California. The wireless access network will provide free broadband Internet access for every neighborhood by the end of 2008. Meraki needs to put up free radio repeaters on the rooftops and homes of the customers so that the network will function. The Free the Net program of the firm which was launched in 2007 will be the springboard for the city-wide program.
