A numerical method is presented for the simulation of the quenching of soda-lime silicate glass plate. The process consists of heating the glass to a temperature above 600 °C and cooling rapidly by air. Using one flux method the radiation source term of the glass is calculated. For one dimensional, unsteady heat conduction and radiation through the glass, the energy equation is solved using finite difference method. A program is written in FORTRAN and the temperature distribution in the glass plate is calculated. Results are given as diagrams and compared with the results given in the literature.
