ABSTRACT
The author reports on historic events which occurred during the fourth week in January. On January 21, 1964 Carl T. Rowan was named director of the U.S. Information Agency (USIA). Opera singer Leontyne Price made her debut singing at the Metropolitan Opera on January 27, 1961. The lives of both Rowan and Price are discussed.
