ABSTRACT
The article reports that according to "Financial Times," on carbon offset market in Great Britain, revealed that widespread failings in the new markets for carbon offsets, suggesting some organisations are paying for emissions reductions that do not take place. The report also found that some industrial companies are profiting from doing very little, or from gaining greenhouse gas credits on the basis of efficiency gains from which they have already benefited substantially. Critics argue that the carbon offsets industry is allowing individuals, organizations and countries to think it is alright to keep polluting.
