ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of musical theater in the U.S. The gross of the January 2008 musical shows dropped by 25% overall to a total of $15,474,798. The shows were down virtually across the board, including "Wicked" and "Jersey Boys." Further, "The Lion King" slewed by 21% to $1,024,955 and "Mary Poppins" by 23% to $834,991.
