ABSTRACT
This article reports on the plans of Kibu web site to launch its advertising campaign in April 2000. Kibu describes itself as a digital lifestyle brand for girls. While Kibu faces stiff competition from established sites, such as Alloy, Bolt.com, and Snowball.com, it has heavy-hitter financial backers. Main attraction of the web site is its emphasis on creating online and offline communities for girls, and integrating corporate sponsors into the content. According to Excited@Home Chairman Tom Jermoluk, the Kibu name tested well with teenage girls.
