ABSTRACT
This article reports on the advertising campaign of American Greetings Corp. for its Great Britain Bubblegum card line to be launched in the U.S. as of February 2000. American Greetings is giving younger consumers something new to chew on with the export of its successful British Bubblegum card line to the U.S. To pitch the product, Doner's Southfield, Michigan, and Cleveland offices collaborated on a television and print effort introducing the Bubblegum Crew cartoon characters featured in the card line. Themed "Who is the Bubblegum Crew?" the television spots break the first week of March on Viacom cable network Nick at Night and TV Land. Print advertising, which contains an insert of an actual Bubblegum card, broke in March issues of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Jane and Mademoiselle.
