Building Big Returns

Emery, Ruth
January 2008
Forbes Asia;1/7/2008, Vol. 4 Issue 1, p64
The article features Raymond Cheng, manager of the Asia Pacific Infrastructure fund launched by South Korea's Mirae Asset on February 23, 2007. Cheng has almost 30% of his fund in Indian and Chinese companies, such as China National Building Material and Larsen & Toubro, India's largest engineering and construction outfit. But given where Mirae Asset is based, it is not surprising that Korea is the most heavily represented country in Cheng's fund, at 25.8%. Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world's biggest shipbuilder, is his largest holding, at 6%.
