ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Pace Micro Technology PLC to acquire Royal Philips Electronics NV's box set-top box and connectivity solutions business in a $135-million deal in Great Britain. According to Neil Gaydon, chief executive officer (CEO) of Pace, the joint venture of the two firms would established a leading center of excellence in the set-top box industry. Under the terms, Philips would own 22.5 % of Pace's shares upon completion of the merger.
