ABSTRACT
The article reports on the outlook for asset servicing industry as of January 7, 2008. Traditional asset managers adopted strategies including short-extension funds and liability-driven investing. Securities depositories are encountering technological obstacles to operational efficiency. According to Conrad Kozak, global head of the fund administration of JP Morgan Worldwide Securities Services, improved productivity will cause a reduction in the amount of technology spending in the production.
