Cisco accelerates shift to software, data center

The author adds that unified communications, collaboration, Web 2.0 and data-center virtualization will keep the company going. Furthermore, some analysts believe that Cisco's ambition might possibly lead to the acquisition of BEA Systems. Moreover, it was noted that the company will compete to IT systems companies such as EMC Corp., HP, IBM Corp. and Microsoft Corp.
