ABSTRACT
The article presents the biggest newsmakers of 2007 in the U.S. computer industry. Google, unveiled its open development platform called Android with $10 million bounty that shook up the telecommunication industry. Google also continued to strengthen its advertising empire, putting up $3.1 billion to acquire ad-management player DoubleClick. Steve Ballmer, the voice of Microsoft said that Red Hat Linux uses intellectual property owned by Microsoft that angered the open source community. He also insulted the iPhone and Google's Android, saying it would never grab significant market share. Also the spread of the Storm Worm, a computer virus infecting computers carrying the subject line "230 dead as storm batters Europe" and a Trojan payload.
