'Supply Chain's Too Inefficient'

The article reports on the inefficiency of supply chain which led metal suppliers to miss opportunities for improving profits. According to Jack Hockema of Kaiser Aluminum Corp., the greatest inefficiency for the mills is the stocking boom and desticking depression cycle. Furthermore, there are some people who agreed that downstream consolidation and mills acquiring service centers is not the answer to a more efficient supply chain.
