ABSTRACT
The article reports on issues concerning the documentary movie "Primate," by Frederick Wiseman which has stirred controversy because of its poor exhibition of animal research ethics. It reported how the film has elicited strong but contrary reactions from its primate viewers. It is informed that the film raises the serious question of whether complex scientific matters can be made intelligible for the general public through the visual medium. The television reviewers charged the film as it raised questions about the ethics of the research and indicted scientists with cruelty to animals. INSET: Wiseman's Earlier Works.
