Cadence joins HyperTransport consortium, adds low latency IP

The article reports that electronic design automation software provider Cadence Design System Inc. has joined the HyperTransport Technology Consortium. Cadence plans to offer low latency, customizable HyperTransport 3.0 interconnect PHY cores. HyperTransport 3.0 is the latest version of the HyperTransport interconnect standard, extends the dual data rate maximum clock to 2.6 GHz, and delivers a maximum aggregate bandwidth of 41.6 Gbps.
