ABSTRACT
This article reports on a memorial for U.S. leader Martin Luther King, Jr. that is being built at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Born on January 15, 1929, King grew up in the southern part of the U.S. He was honored in January with a national holiday, and for 2008, Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be on January 21. The total amount allotted for the construction of the memorial is $100 million.
