ABSTRACT
The article presents a study on ankle-brachial index's (ABI) independent prediction of all-cause mortality in high-risk patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). It included 395 of 437 patients, referred to the vascular center for PAD and underwent ABI and dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) testing. It concludes that ABI independently predicted all-cause mortality in the subjects. No prediction of cardiovascular events or mortality was observed by DSE. It discusses prediction guide.
