ABSTRACT
The article offers information on a study, that investigated the use of magnesium for acute management of rapid atrial fibrillation (AF). It describes the procedure and randomized controlled trials (RCTs), that were carried out during the study. The study reveals that magnesium was more effective than placebo in achieving rate control in patients with rapid AF. It also states that magnesium is less effective than calcium-channel blockers for rate control but more effective for rhythm control.
