ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of cold weather on the chemical industry in Argentina during November 2007. It is mentioned that due to snowfall in Buenos Aires, and a severe drought in the country there was a limited hydroelectric power generation, and natural gas for industrial use was diverted toward household heating. It is stated that this impacted not only chemical producers in Argentina, but also in Chile, which had been solely supplied natural gas by Argentina.
