ABSTRACT
This article presents a personal account on the sex education at Shepparton South Technical School in Victoria from 1973 to 1985. The State Liberal government attempted to formulate a policy on sex education. Several extreme right activists also made efforts to discredit and stop these educational programs. Factors that led to the introduction of sex education programs in technical schools include the policy created by Ted Jackson, director of Technical Education and those teachers who worked with academics and community professionals to deliver student-centered curriculum.
