ABSTRACT
The article discusses difficulties in reauthorization of the U.S. No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). George Miller, chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, claims that U.S. President George W. Bush's opposition to changes in NCLB and funding increases may prevent the reauthorization. Miller and senator Edward M. Kennedy have worked on drafts for an updated NCLB bill. The author suggests the National Education Association (NEA) has stalled NCLB legislation.
