The article presents information on recent developments concerning African American music and musicians in New York. Performer Babyface recently performed before a near-capacity Nokia Theatre crowd. Singer Mary J. Blige is back with her new music compact disc (CD) "Growing Pains," which will be released on December 18, 2007. Musician Stephen Hill recently performed a set with a live band in which he gave his interpretations of song and dance by various artists.
