ABSTRACT
The article announces that International Power has reported increased earnings in the nine months to September 30, 2007 due to improved margins on gas-fired power generation in Great Britain. The company's decision to forward-sell output from its 1GW Rugeley coal plant helped profits from International Power's European operations rise by 22 per cent to £377 million. It also reports that group profits were up 12 percent with improved contributions from all regions except Australia.
