Future Times;2007, Vol. 4, p5
The author tells about the possible use of mushrooms to develop new antibiotics. The first antibiotic, penicillin is a fungi, and it had a significant impact on society. Further research in the area will be critical in the next few years, as some bacteria are developing resistance to some antibiotics. Twenty-two percent of the fungi studied by the author had antibacterial properties.
