ABSTRACT
The article investigates the role of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) synthetic enzyme, glutamic acid decaboxylase (GAD), and the subtype A GABA receptor (GABAA R) in airway epithelial cells and mouse models and their roles in asthma. It stated that GABAA R and GABA production mechanisms were expressed in pulmonary epithelial cells and mouse lung tissue. Moreover, the expression of GAD and GABAA R in airway epithelial cells was increased after allergen exposure.
