ABSTRACT
The article offers information about MojoPac from RingCube Technologies in the U.S. It is a platform that uses operating system virtualization to create a Windows XP virtual machine on a host PC running XP. It is beneficial to the operating system because of its performance gains wherein it claims to have a hardware-virtualization overhead of 40% of processor cycles while the MojoPac operating system virtualization has an overhead of 0.4%. It also lowers a low memory overhead of 30 megabytes (MG) as compared with hardware virtualization of 1 gigabytes (GB). The system gets around licensing problems because there is only one copy of the host operating system.
