ABSTRACT
This article presents information on the competition between television networks in terms of television (TV) options such as cable television and syndication. That the networks have managed to maintain an advertising share advantage over TV options in the face of higher rates of audience erosion is a testament to their sales and marketing skills. Access to better TV audience data and the development of sophisticated, computerized audience-reach systems have demystified the advertising impact of network TV.
