This article features Miguel Pereira, marketing director for Los Angeles, California's daily Spanish-language newspaper, La Opinion. Pereira joined La Opinion in 1999, after serving as a international marketing director for the Miami Herald's El Nuevo for more than two years. Previously. Pereira, a native of Spain, was a marketing consultant for El Pais, a Latin American newspaper based in Miami, Florida. As marketing director for La Opinion, Pereira's mission is to transform the newspaper, jointly owned by Times Mirror Co. and Lozano Enterprises, into a marketing company. La Opinion aims to reach its growing audience through a variety of distribution channels, including partnerships with other marketers and media operations.
