The article focuses on high definition television (HDTV) in the U.S. HDTV is now about volume or who has the most channels and the next chapter will be about quality. Quality in HDTV in picture resolution is about how much picture information there is which depends on how many bits are used which in turn depends on how much bandwidth is available.
