ABSTRACT
The article reports that the giga-liner of D-TEC, a Dutch trailer producer, is still being permitted in Germany despite the country's opposition to Longer and Heavier Vehicle Combinations (LHV), the use of giant trucks that will begin in October 2007. Contrail International Inc. has been allowed to finish tests on D-TEC's giga-liners. Jan van Velthuizen of D-TEC says the permission for giga-liners is legally seen possible in every federal state of Germany, but the company is still waiting for further developments.
