ABSTRACT
The article reports on the effects of School Specialty Publishing's Full Option Science System (FOSS) curriculum on educational development in the U.S. It reveals that the programs and hands-on activities of FOSS dominated the elementary segment with a 76% market share. The Board of Education then rejected the recommendation of the state Curriculum Commission to limit hands-on activities to 20% of instruction materials.
