ABSTRACT
The article discusses the proposal of information technology (IT) workers to work in environmentally friendly ways and for efficient energy use. The greenest data centers have informed that the proposal takes time for greener environment, since it requires a lot of marketing and education. It emphasizes that green office buildings are typically large, open spaces with mountable wall systems, modular furniture and maximum use of sunlight. It cited the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Satellite Operations Facilities (NSOF) in Suitland, Maryland which has earned a gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
