ABSTRACT
The article reports on Arbitron's new Portable People Meter music rating system, which replaced the company's decades old diary rating service. A discussion of differences between the two systems, and objections from U.S. radio stations which delayed the December 2007 debut of the system to a fall 2008 debut, is presented.
