ABSTRACT
The article presents the assessment and recommendations of the task force hired by Mayor Joseph Riley following the fire at a furniture store that killed nine firefighters in Charleston, South Carolina. The task force offers about 200 recommendations for the improvement of the city's Fire Department. One of the recommendations is for the expansion of the fire department's training division.
