ABSTRACT
The article discusses the results of a community education symposium on advance directives which are legal documents discussing a patient's choice of health care providers and treatment at the end of life. The symposium aims to overcome the major barriers to the completion of this document through educating community members and stresses the role of the nurses in information dissemination.
