ABSTRACT
The article reports on the surge of lamb meat stock in the British market due to the relaxation of trading restrictions. Meat processors and livestock auctioneers are asking farmers not to flood the market with stock as they intend to put more pressure on prime lamb values. Auctioneer Bernie Hutchinson stresses that they have to regulate lamb numbers due to the lack of export markets. It adds that the meat prices average at 94p/kg liveweight and top at 104p/kg.
