ABSTRACT
The article discusses the usefulness of talent management (TM) in an organization. Chief executive officers (CEOs) believe that having good talented leaders is the key to their competitive advantage and they rely on talent management to produce these leaders. The authors say, however, that talent management practitioners have, as of late, been underperforming in their task to build leaders quickly and effectively. The article suggests to elevate the quality of practitioners, simplify work and define the boundaries of what we do.
