ABSTRACT
The article offers information on babool tree. An overview of the tree as a source of fuel, timber, fodder, tanin and honey is offered. It is a very useful fuelwood tree and its wood is termite-resistant. It discusses its several benefits including preservation of environment. Babool's wood is used as a valuable fuel and consumed as firewood and charcoal in Indo-Pak sub-continent. Several uses of different parts of the tree have been cited such as use of bark and pods in the leather industry.
