ABSTRACT
The article covers issues related to medications and pharmacy. The principles defined by the Toyota Production System (TPS) may be valuable in improving care and reducing cost within the health care environment. The Adverse Event Reporting System data of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed significant increases in serious drug events. Settlement was reached in a case involving a woman who suffered cardiac arrest due to wrong medication.
