ArcelorMittal, Borusan Building Hot-Strip Mill

The article reports on the joint venture partnership between steel companies ArcelorMittal and Borusan for the construction of a new hot-strip mill in Turkey. The project, worth $500 million, will be located next to ArcelorMittal and Borusan's jointly operated Borcelik plant in Gemlik and is expected to be operational in 2010. Michel Wurth of ArcelorMittal admitted that the Turkish steel market is strong and is expected to grow at an annual rate of at least 6% over the next 10 years.
