UVC Lights Enhance Indoor-Air Quality at Wastewater-Plant Office Facility

November 2007
Heating/Piping/Air Conditioning Engineering;Nov2007, Vol. 79 Issue 11, p40
The article focuses on the installation of high-output ultraviolet-C (UVC) lights in the Hyperion Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Los Angeles, California. UVC is the most germicidal wave-length in the ultraviolet spectrum and if installed in an air-handling system, UVC lights emit enough for the energy to penetrate and subsequently kill or deactivate even the tiniest microbe. Since implementing such improvements in mid-2006, the facility eliminated odor problems.
