ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the research on online payments released by Javelin Strategy & Research of Pleasanton, California, in 2007. The research reveals that the alternative definition will grow more fuzzy within five years. It also discloses that alternative payments are going to represent 30 percent of all retail within five years. This surge, as further detailed in the research, will come at the expense of credit cards, which will allegedly make up less half of online transactions by 2012.
