The article reports on the performances of the average daily trade volume on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ as of November 2007. Report claims that there has been a five percent drop on its daily trade volume, and this is due to traders spreading their activity out through a market of alternative electronic communications network (ECNs) and dark pool liquidity traders. By 2011, Aite Group reportedly anticipates that the exchange may further be down by 62 percent of market share.
