Pollack promoted at AA, Egolf takes features post

This article announces the promotion of Judann Pollack to managing editor of Advertising Age, from assistant managing editor. Pollack is based in Chicago, Illinois, and reports to New York City-based executive editor George Vernadakis. She succeeds Larry Edwards, who retired in January after more than 27 years as a reporter and editor for Advertising Age. Pollack, 41, joined Advertising Age in 1985 and held various posts, including reporter, deputy New York bureau chief, Chicago bureau chief and managing editor of Advertising Age International. She was promoted to assistant managing editor of Advertising Age in June 1999. In addition, Advertising Age has named Karen Egolf, 42, to the new post of features editor. In that role, she will coordinate and edit features and trend stories, as well as Special Reports.
