ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in the earnings of industrial gases firms in the U.S. for the quarter ended September 30, 2007. Air Liquide's sales rose 10 percent, to €2.9 billion ($4.2 billion). Air Products says net income more than doubled, to $293 million including special items, on sales up 12 percent, to $2.6 billion. Praxair reported net income up 25 percent, to $305 million ,on sales up 13 percent, to about $2.4 billion due to new business, improved pricing, and operational efficiencies.
