ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the financial performance of the Malaysian and Singapore markets. While markets throughout Asia are doing well so far in 2007, Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur Composite Index and the Singapore Straits Times Index are up 26% and 30.4%, respectively. Although palm oil and other commodities are an important part of Malaysia's growth, investors have begun to recognize that its economy is well diversified with 43% of GDP attributed to the services sector while agriculture represents only 8%.
