ABSTRACT
The article focuses on C. Peter Waegemann, executive director of the Boston, Massachusetts-based Medical Records Institute and an advocate for electronic medical record (EMR) in the U.S. He is a fixture at the annual "Toward the Electronic Patient Record" (TEPR) conference which he launched in the early 1980s. The programs of the institute aim to help clinicians sort out vendors' EMR products. Waegemann has also worked to promote data standards for electronic clinical information.
