Societal trust is defined as the expectation among members of a community that others can generally be relied upon to act in a generally honest and cooperative manner to maintain an orderly society. It is stated that the trust grows in the values shared by the society. It highlights the books "Trust: The Social Virtues and the Creation of Prosperity," by Francis Fukuyama and "Fellow Teachers," by Philip Rieff.
