ABSTRACT
The article discusses the effects of the recall of 255,000 Chinese-made tires in the Foreign Tires Sales (FTS) Inc. case. In June 2007, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) ordered FTS to recall the tires that it purchased from Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company since 2006 due to safety issues. Being the importer, FTS was responsible for the performance and reliability of the product. This was previously assumed by the manufacturer.
