ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the plan of ArvinMeritor Inc. to consolidate its three ride control facilities in North America, and close its original equipment shock absorber operation in Toronto, Ontario, along with its packaging and distribution center in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Based on the article, the closure is part of a previously announced restructuring plan, which would affect 2,800 employees. Most of the shock absorber production will be transferred to Queretaro, Mexico by June 2008, and scheduled for closure by June 2009.
